ElasticubeData "xxxx_Alternative" folders
AnsweredHi Experts,
I noticed that Sisense consumed more disk space when we upgraded to 6.5. Looking at the ElasticubeData folder, there were duplicates (with suffix "_Alternative") for some of our cubes. These "_Alternative" cubes have larger size than the original and takes too much space in our C drive. The build duration of these cubes has also increased.
My questions:
1. What is the use of these "alternative" folders? The cubes from the server console don't even point to these, they point to the original
2. Why do the other cubes do not have these "alternative" folders? Can this be turned off?
3. Is it safe to delete these folders?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Melanie,
If I remember correctly those folders are for ElastiCubes with Accumulative build tables in them(this copy is made to allow access to data even if ElastiCube is being processed). I'm not sure if you can delete those, it would be best if you would rise a ticket to support, they will answer in more detail to that.
Regards,
Micha

Hi Melanie,
You can delete the alternative folders if there is no builds running. The best thing is to ask the Sisense support team for their data cleaner that will delete all unnecessary folders.
